I help leaders strategize and make clear, grounded decisions when things are complex.
About Lacey Haegen Business & Leadership Coach
Lacey Haegen serves as a strategic advisor, mentor, and consultant who supports business owners and leaders in making clear, grounded moves when things are complex. Her work is rooted in a deep understanding of human behavior, systems, and leadership — shaped by a background in sociology, corporate leadership, and entrepreneurship.
As a former founder and CEO who built and sold a successful company, Lacey brings real-world business experience to reflective, values-driven advisory work. She helps leaders navigate growth, transition, and high-stakes moments with clarity, confidence, and long-term sustainability.
I support leaders move forward when the stakes are high.
My work is grounded in both leadership development and creative business strategy. I’m deeply considerate of profitability, long-term viability, and exit strategy — not inflated top-line numbers or short-term wins that erode sustainability.
Without a healthy business, there is no one to lead. Clear decisions must be supported by strong financial reality, thoughtful analytics, and a long-game perspective. That balance is what allows leaders to build companies that are not only aligned, but enduring.
I’m a deeply strategic thinker. I tend to notice small signals, underlying patterns, and early indicators — then expand them into clear direction and possibility.
This allows leaders to move forward without needing a full plan upfront. We work from what’s already present, clarify what matters most, and shape strategy that grows organically from sound decisions rather than forced execution.
How Leaders Think, Shapes What They Build - Together We Shape New Ways of Thinking to Build the Company and Life You Envision.
After years of mentoring entrepreneurs and founders, I began to notice a consistent pattern. Leaders were always capable of building strategies, implementing systems, and making measurable progress — yet many would eventually stall. Not because of a lack of skill, but because their patterns of thought disrupted their momentum. Old doubts resurfaced, decision-making became reactive, and forward motion quietly unraveled.
Leaders would achieve a certain level of growth, but inevitably they would hit a high point and then begin to slide backwards. These slides were more than just routine market dips and growth pains. They would begin slowly at first with overwhelm, cashflow crunches, and mismatched hires and unfounded promotions, and then compound into erratic direction, and erratic spending - often times on 'investments' into external 'magic bullet' solutions. Ultimately, previous progress was damaged (or destroyed) and the leader was left back at square one with debt, disbelief, and a mess to dismantle.
What I kept seeing was not a strategy problem — it was patterns of limiting beliefs and identity disconnects.
I knew that to truly help business owners and leaders achieve their goals, I would have to be able to help them update the patterns of beliefs and behavior defaults that kept undermining them. That realization led me to pursue advanced training in Transformational NLP from NLP Marin. Transformational NLP is a highly specialized and unique methodology that focuses on identifying and working with the subconscious patterns that shape how decisions are made. This work allows me to help leaders move beyond repeating cycles, regain clarity and self-trust, and make grounded decisions that support sustainable growth — without forcing change or overriding who they are.
When you grow beyond outdated thought patterns, you don’t just build a stronger business — you become the human you’re meant to be.
Business & Leadership Growth with Transformational NLP:
Transformational NLP is a practical way of working with the internal thought patterns that shape how leaders think, decide, and respond to experiences. It’s not a specific method of change work that creates new options, so leaders have more clarity, choice, and steadiness in how they show up in tough situations moving forward.
In my work, Transformational NLP is used to surface and shift the patterns that quietly limit decision-making, confidence, or follow-through. Rather than pushing for change, the focus is on increasing awareness, resourcefulness, and internal alignment — so leaders can respond intentionally instead of reacting from old defaults.
Before beginning work together, I often outline the kinds of challenges this approach can support. In simple terms, it helps leaders move out of repeating cycles and into clearer, more grounded ways of thinking and leading.
Common Areas This Work Can Support
- Automatic reactions that surface under pressure
- A persistent sense that something is quietly limiting forward momentum
- Past experiences that continue to influence present-day decisions
- Moments where confidence or authority drops unexpectedly
- Difficulty sustaining motivation or follow-through
- Repeating patterns or behaviors that no longer serve your leadership
- Internal tension between competing priorities or desires
- Strengthening resilience and internal resources during demanding seasons
- Fear or hesitation that interferes with decisive action
- Building steady, self-trusting confidence moving forward
How Transformational NLP Is Used
Unlike the performance-driven, high-energy, and mob-mentality approaches of Conventional NLP, Transformational NLP is subtle, reflective, and deeply individualized. It doesn’t rely on hype, tactics, or temporary motivation. Instead, it is a gentle, quiet, and curious exploration of earlier life experiences that have quietly shaped a person's beliefs, thoughts, and respond over time.
By bringing awareness, curiosity, and adult perspective to these earlier life experiences, this approach supports lasting shifts in clarity, confidence, and decision-making — without force or intensity.
It’s also important to note that Transformational NLP is just one tool within my work. We use it only when it’s appropriate and useful. If another approach better serves the situation, we use that instead. The work is always collaborative and always grounded in a simple starting point: What would you like to experience differently than you are now?
Let’s Begin with a Conversation.
Better decisions don’t come from pushing harder — they come from thinking more clearly.
Frequently Asked Questions About Transformational NLP
Transformational NLP is one of the tools I use to help leaders move past hidden blocks and grow in both business and leadership — here are answers to common questions.
How is Transformational NLP different from Conventional NLP?
Conventional NLP — often focuses on performance, persuasion, and high-energy “state change.” While that version can be motivating, it can sometimes feel surface-level or short-lived, manipulative, and be followed by identity crashes.
Transformational NLP, as taught through NLP Marin, goes much deeper. It’s not about hype or forcing quick fixes. Instead, it gently uncovers the subconscious patterns — often formed in childhood — that keep you stuck in repeating cycles. By bringing compassion, curiosity, and adult perspective to those old patterns, Transformational NLP creates lasting shifts in how you experience yourself, your choices, and your leadership.
How is Transformational NLP different from traditional coaching?
Transformational NLP is a methodology that helps uncover and shift subconscious patterns that can keep leaders stuck — and can be used as support of traditional coaching. Traditional coaching focuses mostly on setting up quantifiable strategies, whereas NLP works with how the mind has coded past experiences into how we understand the world and how those understandings may be helping, or hindering us now.
Do I have to do NLP if I work with you?
Not at all. NLP is one tool in my coaching toolbox, and we’ll only use it if it feels like the right fit for you. Coaching always begins with your goals, and NLP is simply one pathway toward them.
What kinds of challenges can NLP help with?
NLP is especially helpful when you feel like there’s something in the way that you can’t quite name or move past. It can help with unwanted reactions, fear, confidence, motivation, self-sabotage, and those repeating cycles where you feel like you’re back at square one. It’s also powerful for adding new resources to what’s already working well. It can help change unwanted habits and help you see things differently when desired.
What happens in an NLP session?
In a session, we’ll use guided questions and visualization techniques to revisit past experiences, explore present patterns, and imagine new possibilities. We’re not changing the past — we’re changing how it feels and what it means now, so you can move forward with more choice and less friction.
Can I book an NLP session without ongoing coaching?
Yes. If you’d like to work through business or personal blocks without committing to ongoing coaching, I offer single-session Transformational NLP appointments. Contact me to book your session HERE.
