Your Questions About Business & Leadership Coaching

Leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs often ask similar questions when exploring business and leadership coaching: How does it work? What’s different about this approach? What kind of results can I expect? This FAQ page shares answers to help you see if coaching with Flourish and Lacey Haegen is the right next step for your growth.

Practical Concerns:
Coaching Logistics, Pricing & Time Commitment

From pricing to scheduling to the level of commitment, these practical details cover what you need to know before starting business, leadership, and executive coaching.

What if my business is already going well — can coaching still help me?

Absolutely. Many of my clients are not in crisis — they’re successful, but they know there’s more. Coaching helps refine what’s working, strengthen leadership, and expand perspective so you can grow sustainably, without burning out yourself or your team.

What types of clients do you usually work with?

I primarily work with established entrepreneurs, business owners, executives, and nonprofit leaders who want to grow beyond cycles of stress, uncertainty, or stagnation. Some are overwhelmed and need structure; others are doing well but want the support, perspective, and accountability to reach their next level of success.

Do you only work with certain industries?

Not at all. My clients span a wide range of industries — from bridal salons to marine fuel brokerages, from software development firms to mission-driven nonprofits. The reason is simple: the challenges leaders face are more about people, patterns, and leadership than about the specific product or service. Whether you’re selling gowns, fueling ships, writing code, running a nonprofit - or whatever else, the principles of clarity, confidence, and alignment still apply.

What kind of results can I expect from working with you?

Clients often come away with both practical and personal results:

  • Clearer financials and data-driven decision-making
  • Strategies and systems that fit their business and team
  • Greater confidence in their leadership
  • Stronger alignment between their business and personal life
  • Renewed energy and inspiration for their work

Ultimately, the result is more than just growth — it’s the ability to flourish in a way that’s sustainable and meaningful to you.

Are our conversations confidential?

Absolutely. Everything we discuss stays between us. My role is to create a trusted, agenda-free space where you can think out loud, ask honest questions, and process decisions without fear of judgment or disclosure.

Do you work virtually, in person, or both?

Most of my coaching is done virtually, which makes it easy for clients to meet from anywhere. For local clients, special engagements, and strategic retreats, in-person sessions may also be available by arrangement.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

Life and business happen — I understand. I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule. Cancellations with less notice are counted as a session, as this protects the integrity of our work together and respects both of our time.

How often do we meet, and how long are the sessions?

Most clients meet with me twice per month for 60-120 minutes. This cadence allows enough space to put strategies into action while keeping consistent momentum. That said, frequency and length are always customized to what will best support you. In the beginning of working together it is customary to meet more frequently.

How does pricing work?

Coaching with me is month-to-month, so you’re never locked into a long-term contract. Pricing reflects the depth of support we create together — whether that’s ongoing leadership and business coaching or a single Transformational NLP session. Visit the Services page for details, or reach out directly if you’d like me to help you decide which option is the best fit.

Do you require a long-term contract?

No, I don’t require a long-term contract — all coaching is offered on a month-to-month basis. That gives you flexibility and choice in how long we work together. That said, it’s reasonable to expect that the longer we work together, the more ground we’ll cover. Real change takes time, and momentum builds session by session — but you’re always in the driver’s seat. I do not require a contract but we will sign an agreement that sets the expectations of how we will work together.

How do I get started?

It begins with a conversation. We’ll schedule a complimentary discovery call where you can share what’s happening in your business and leadership, and I’ll answer any questions you have about coaching. From there, if it feels like the right fit, we’ll decide together on a starting point — whether that’s ongoing coaching or a single NLP session. Set up your discovery call HERE, or scroll to the button at the bottom of this page.

Coaching & Approach:
How My Business & Leadership Coaching Works

Here’s what to expect from my business and leadership coaching — how the process works, how it blends strategy with personal growth, and why it’s different from traditional consulting or mentoring.

What’s the difference between a coach, a consultant, and a mentor?

In my work, I blend elements of all three — but with a strong coaching foundation. That means you’ll get reflective space to grow as a leader, practical strategies you can implement, and the benefit of my experience as a founder and business owner.

A coach helps you uncover your own clarity, build confidence, and align your actions with your goals. Coaching is collaborative and reflective — it’s about drawing out your wisdom and equipping you to lead with strength.

A consultant is more directive. They analyze your business, identify problems, and recommend specific solutions. The focus is on expert advice and implementation strategies.

A mentor shares personal experience and guidance from walking a similar path. Mentorship often feels like having a trusted confidant who’s “been there” and can offer encouragement, perspective, and lessons learned.

What’s the difference between business coaching and leadership coaching?

Business coaching often focuses on systems, strategy, and operations. Leadership coaching centers on how you show up — your clarity, confidence, and alignment as the person steering the ship. My work blends both. We’ll strengthen your business mechanics while also building the leadership skills and inner steadiness that allow your business — and your life — to flourish.

How do you balance practical business strategy with personal growth in your coaching?

Numbers, systems, and strategies are essential — but they only work if you have the clarity, confidence, and alignment to lead them well. In our work, we’ll look at financials, strategy, and team structure right alongside vision, values, and personal leadership growth. It’s the combination that creates lasting results.

Do you use a set program, or is everything customized?

Every leader’s path is different, so my coaching is fully customized. I draw from years of experience and learning, and use my Grow Beyond Framework — a set of guiding arcs and checkpoints — to help you reflect, reframe, and move forward. What we focus on depends on you: where you are, what’s in the way, and what you’d like to achieve.

What is the “Grow Beyond” framework, and how does it work in practice?

The Grow Beyond Framework includes my 12 Arcs of Leadership and Values in Action. It is a process that helps leaders pause, reflect, and choose how they’ll move forward. Each Arc invites you to see yourself clearly, reframe stuck patterns, envision new possibilities, listen for deeper truths, and step into aligned action. It’s not about rigid steps — it’s about creating space for awareness and choice, so you can grow beyond old cycles into new levels of clarity and confidence.

Clarifying your unique Values and defining them in Action and using them to curate your company culture, set expectations, and establish boundaries is part of the process.

Do you work with teams as well as individual leaders?

Yes. I often work with leadership teams to improve communication, clarify roles, and align around shared strategy. In team settings, I bring the same blend of practical strategy and personal leadership development that I use in one-on-one coaching. This type of work is also customized to the team and the need.

Do you work with organizations as well as individuals?

Yes. In addition to one-on-one coaching, I work with leadership teams and boards. This often looks like helping teams clarify roles, align around shared goals, and strengthen communication. I support leaders and teams in cultivating healthier team dynamics and structures that allow both the mission and the people behind it to flourish.

Are you available for speaking engagements?

Yes. I speak on topics including leadership, business development, values-driven growth, and breaking through old patterns that hold leaders back. Whether it’s a conference, retreat, or team workshop, I bring a blend of practical insight and personal transformation that inspires leaders to grow beyond. If you’re interested in booking me for a speaking engagement, please reach out to start the conversation.

Do you offer workshops or trainings?

Yes. I design and facilitate customized workshops and trainings for leadership teams, boards, and organizations. These sessions are highly interactive and can focus on topics like values-driven leadership, decision-making, team alignment, communication, or business strategy. Each training is tailored to your specific goals, so your team walks away with practical tools and a shared language they can put into action right away.

Do you offer non-profit rates?

Yes. I believe in supporting the work of nonprofit leaders, and I offer adjusted rates for nonprofit organizations. If you’re leading a nonprofit and interested in coaching, let’s talk about what level of support will best serve you and your mission.

Fit & Philosophy:
Is My Coaching Right for You?

Coaching is most effective when it’s the right fit — here’s how my philosophy and approach help leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs decide if this work is right for them.

What do you mean by “flourish”?

To me, flourishing means more than just financial success. It’s about creating the conditions for you, your team, and your business to thrive in a way that feels aligned with your values and supports the life you want to live. When you flourish, your business does too.

A flourishing life means experiencing overall well-being across multiple aspects of your life, going beyond simple happiness to a state of thriving, purpose, connection, and growth. It involves cultivating positive emotions, developing meaningful relationships, finding purpose in our activities, and maintaining good mental and physical health, allowing you to know just exist, but truly live with depth, direction and resilience. ❤️

How do I know if we'd be a "fit"?

Coaching is a personal relationship, so fit matters. You might be in the right place if you want both practical support (numbers, systems, strategy) and personal growth (clarity, confidence, alignment). My clients are leaders who are willing to be honest with themselves, open to reflection, and ready to take action toward what they want. If that resonates, we’ll likely be a good fit. Before we begin, we would have a conversation to assess our "fit."

What do you mean when you say you create a safe space for clients?

Clients often tell me that I’m one of the few places where they can be fully honest — about their fears, their doubts, and their hopes. I create a space free of judgment where you can think out loud, explore possibilities, and confront patterns that may be holding you back. Safety is what allows real growth to happen.

What values guide your coaching work?

My work is grounded in values I live out daily: clarity, confidence, alignment, confidance, consistency, and courage. These values shape how I show up in sessions, how I hold space for clients, and how I support leaders in building businesses and lives that truly flourish.

What’s your background, and how does it influence how you coach?

I was raised by entrepreneurial parents who instilled business as part of life in me. I attended undergraduate and graduate school for Sociology, studying the patterns of human behavior, systems, and society. I spent years in the luxury retail and cosmetics industry before founding, scaling, and selling my own company. I spent 5 years as a mentor for another business coaching company and have supported many clients on my own as well. I have certification in Transformational NLP to help leaders break through invisible patterns that hold them back. This blend of real-world business experience and transformational tools shapes everything I do as a coach.

How do I know if coaching with you is right for me?

If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re already looking for something more — more clarity, more confidence, more alignment between your business and your life. My clients often come to me because they’re ready to stop spinning in cycles, want support in making clear decisions, or simply know there’s something in the way they can’t quite name.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just need a willingness to pause, reflect, and step into new possibilities. If you’re ready to grow beyond old patterns and flourish as a leader, you’re in the right place.

What is Transformational NLP?

Transformational NLP is a methodology for working with the subconscious patterns that shape how we experience ourselves, others, and the world. It’s not about changing the past — it’s about changing how the past feels now, so you have more freedom, choice, and alignment in the present. For more information please click HERE.
